The Toronto Blue Jays have received the go-ahead for Canadian government officials to return to the Rogers Centre, with the Jays first game in 670 days on Canadian soil set for Friday, July 30th, when the Kansas City Royals travel “north of the border”.

With Canada instituting very tough rules in response to handling the COVID-19 pandemic, the Blue Jays played home games in Buffalo, New York for the 2020 season, and the 2021 contests played in the summer, with games in the spring months played at the Blue Jays spring training facility in Dunedin, Florida.

The team did announce that home games in Toronto will be played with “robust health and safety protocols in place” as visiting teams come in and out of Canada, where travel from the United States has been outlawed completely for numerous months.
