The Chillicothe Mudcats are currently on a five-game winning streak. They defeated St. Joseph on Thursday night with a score of 10-7. The team had a rare Friday night off while other teams in the MINK League were in action.

Unfortunately for Chillicothe, the Des Moines team did not provide any assistance in their pursuit of catching up to the MINK North leading Clarinda team. Clarinda swept a doubleheader against Des Moines, winning the games 4-3 and 5-1. St. Joseph, the second-ranked team in the northern division, defeated the Carroll Merchants with a score of 8-4.

In the MINK League South, which is considered less competitive, the Jefferson City team currently leads with a 15-15 record. However, they were defeated by Joplin on Friday night with a score of 11-4. Meanwhile, Nevada won against Sedalia with a score of 4-2.

On Saturday night, the Chillicothe Mudcats will try to surpass the .500 winning percentage mark as they travel to Indianola, Iowa to play against the Des Moines Peak Prospects. The game is scheduled to start at 7 o’clock. Other games with a 7 PM start time include Carroll at St. Joseph, Jefferson City at Clarinda, and Sedalia at Joplin.
