The Missouri men’s basketball program has postponed its scheduled Southeastern Conference games with LSU (Saturday) and Vanderbilt (Tuesday) as the result of COVID-19 protocols within the Tiger program.  Make-up dates for the games have not yet been announced.

Mizzou’s last game, on Tuesday, January 5th, resulted in a 78-63 loss at Mississippi State, dropping the program to a 7-2 overall record, and 1-2 in the SEC.  Following the loss, MU began to run into issues with the coronavirus in and close to the program.

It is the first time this season that Missouri has had to deal directly with positive cases and direct contacts in its program.  The next game on the docket for MU, a Saturday, January 16th contest at 12 noon at Texas A&M, remains on as scheduled.

Missouri was not the only SEC squad dealing with postponements on Saturday due to the virus, as the South Carolina Gamecocks had to postpone their road trip to Ole Miss to play the Rebels.  With Ole Miss and LSU both indirectly affected by coronavirus, the Tigers made the quick decision, working with the Rebels program, to travel to Oxford on Saturday night to play their border rivals.  LSU emerged with a 75-61 record, improving to a record of 8-2 overall, and 3-1 in the SEC, dropping Mississippi to 6-4, 1-2.

Other Saturday scores from the SEC were:

Alabama 94, Auburn 90

Mississippi State 84, Vanderbilt 81

Tennessee 68, Texas A&M 54

Arkansas 99, Georgia 69

Kentucky 76, Florida 58
