The annual Chillicothe Invitational boys golf tournament was contested on Thursday at the Green Hills Golf Course, with Trenton High School senior Lathan Croy continuing a superb recent surge of strong play with a winning total of 76 on the 18-hole course, shooting 40 on the front nine and a 36 on the back.

Croy’s 76 was two strokes better than the 78 from Maryville’s Matthew Madden and Cameron’s Spencer Teel.  South Harrison’s Austin Lasher, at 79, finished in 4th place, with Sam Morrison of Cameron in the fifth spot with a score of 82.

With a team score of 333, the Cameron Dragons won the Chillicothe Invitational team title, followed by a strong South Harrison runner-up showing of 337, and Maryville’s 340.  In addition to Croy’s 76, other Trenton scores were 101 for Mason Owen and Max McNabb, 108 from Lucas Clark, and 11 shot by Gavin Roeder.  THS coach Travis Mullenix said Thursday was the “best day the Bulldogs had as a team yet this year!” Trenton’s team score of 386 was good for 7th place.
