Former Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Pellom McDaniels III passed away in Atlanta, Georgia over the weekend. He was just 52 years old. A graduate of Oregon State University, McDaniels struggled to find footing early in his pro career, with a hip injury spelling an early end to his time with the Philadelphia Eagles.
After two seasons in England with the NFL Europe’s Birmingham Fire, McDaniels was signed by the Chiefs. Playing with the franchise from 1993 to 1998, McDaniels accumulated 85 tackles and 7.5 sacks, appearing in 74 games for Head Coach Marty Schottenheimer.
