The Penney High School Hornets are the unanimous #1 ranked team in the state in Class 1, coming off a convincing victory in the first week of the season at Maysville. Meanwhile, the Class 2 poll sets up a pair of road challenges this week for the Grand River Conference’s Trenton Bulldogs and Milan Wildcats, who travel to Lexington High School and South Callaway High School respectively, this week.
South Callaway, located in the community of Mokane, Missouri (south of Fulton) is up three spots to #7 in the state rankings this week, while Lexington, coming off a dominating victory at Skyline High School a week ago, sits just outside the poll in the 12th position, receiving three votes. The road games featuring Trenton and Milan will be heard locally on Hot Country Z 101.7 (Trenton-Lexington) and KTTN FM 92.3 (Milan-South Callaway).
