COLUMBIA, MO. (STLToday.com) • With camp season in full swing, the Missouri football team picked up a verbal commitment from a recent visitor. Logan Christopherson, a tight end from Lemont, Ill., visited campus in early May and Thursday announced he’d committed to Mizzou on Twitter.

Listed at 6-6, 225 pounds, Christopherson also holds offers from Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas, Nevada, New Mexico and Syracuse among others. He’s rated as a three-star prospect by recruiting outlets.

Barry Odom and his new offensive staff made the tight end position an emphasis in the 2016 class with the addition of Lafayette’s Brendan Scales and Albert Okwuegbunam from Springfield, Ill. The Tigers have three returning tight ends on the 2016 roster: senior Sean Culkin, junior Jason Reese and sophomore Kendall Blanton.

Lemont, a suburb of Chicago, is also the hometown of another 6-6 tight end: NFL veteran Coby Fleener, an All-American at Stanford.
