It’s official : NY Jets to be on “Hard Knocks”, debuting August 8th

NFL

The New York Jets have officially confirmed that they will be the featured team in the 18th edition of the HBO and NFL Films show “Hard Knocks.” The show offers a behind-the-scenes look at an NFL team’s preseason work and training camp. The premiere for this edition is set for August 8.

The reason for the Jets being an appealing subject for the show is the arrival of their new quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. After spending 18 successful seasons with the Green Bay Packers, Rodgers joined the Jets, making it a significant event for the team and a point of interest for viewers.

Initially, the Jets’ head coach, Robert Saleh, stated that the team wasn’t interested in being the subject of “Hard Knocks.” However, Rodgers, during the American Century Championship golf event in Lake Tahoe, expressed that the team would have to do it regardless due to the attention on him and the team’s high expectations.

This marks the Jets’ second appearance on “Hard Knocks.” The first time was in 2010 when Rex Ryan was the head coach. Coincidentally, 2010 was also the most recent season when the Jets made the postseason, making it the longest active playoff drought in the league for the team.
