K-State’s basketball arena, Bramlage Coliseum, could soon have new name

NCAA

Kansas State University has announced its partnership with Independent Sports and Entertainment (ISE) to sell naming rights to Bramlage Coliseum, the university’s longtime home basketball arena. The goal of this partnership is to explore new revenue avenues that can be reinvested in K-State’s student-athletes and their experiences.

Bramlage Coliseum, affectionately known as the “Octagon of Doom,” opened in 1988 and was named after Fred Bramlage, a K-State graduate and Junction City businessman who made a significant contribution towards its construction. However, with the rising costs of maintaining a Power Five athletic program, K-State is seeking naming rights to increase revenues.

ISE, a sports marketing agency, will lead the search for the right coliseum naming-rights partner at K-State. They have a successful track record in this field, having conducted six venue naming rights searches in the past 18 months, resulting in $130 million in partnerships for university partners nationwide.

K-State’s partnership with ISE reflects the university’s commitment to finding a naming rights partner that aligns with its strong leadership and integrates seamlessly across campus and with their multi-media rights partner. President Richard Linton, Athletic Director Gene Taylor, and coaches Jerome Tang and Jeff Mittie are excited about the collaboration with ISE and the potential to make this naming rights endeavor a success.
