Lady Bulldog volleyball, seeking district banner, opens practice with new coach

Local Sports Volleyball

With numbers in the lower to middle 20s, interest in playing volleyball at Trenton High School continues at a good pace, with the program continuing to push toward an eventual goal of winning a district championship.  New leadership for the program is in place for the 2021 season, as Brad Ewald takes the reigns of the team.

Following Tuesday morning’s second practice of the season, Coach Ewald caught up with Sports Director Tom Johnson, and spoke about the level of anticipation of the upcoming season:

Coach Ewald was asked about not his short-term goals for the THS program, but also, as a new coach, the long-term vision for what Lady Bulldog volleyball could become through the 2020’s:

Trenton opens the 2021 season at Cameron on Monday, August 30th, starting a three game road swing that includes Chillicothe on Thursday, September 2nd and Plattsburg on Tuesday, September 7th.  The home opener, on Thursday, September 9th, will see Trenton welcome Carrollton to the THS gym, starting a four-game homestand.  The complete THS volleyball schedule is available from this link.
