Lady Pirates snap losing skid with Tuesday night win in Fayette

The North Central Missouri College women defeated the Central Methodist JV on Tuesday night, 90-63, rebounding from a Monday night home defeat to Region 16 rival Cottey.  The Lady Pirates, now 18-7 on the season, had 20 points from Kendey Eaton, 15 from Samm Jett, and 14 from Whitley Richman.

The NCMC men traveled to Ottumwa, Iowa on Tuesday night, and took one on the chin against Indian Hills Community College, 107-62.  Jordan Reece led the Pirates with 19 points, while Jalen Gant added 14.  For IHCC, Antonio Williams came off the bench to score a game-high 24 points.

Both Pirate teams travel to Kansas City on Saturday afternoon, playing the Scouts of Penn Valley Community College.  The 2 o’clock women’s game and 4 o’clock men’s game will be broadcast on Hot Country Z 101.7.

On Monday night, the Lady Pirates were defeated by Cottey College, 75-73.  Katrina Cantu hit 31 points to lead the Comets in the upset victory, with Destiney Teniente adding 12, Cierra Carlson 11, and Mallory Moles 10 points.  The Lady Pirates, now 1-3 in Region 16 play, had 17 points from Sarah Lamp.  Whitley Richman, Samm Jett, and Maddie Book all had 11 points in the loss.
