The Princeton girls basketball team, behind 14 points in the fourth quarter from senior forward Lauren Krohn, downed the visiting Polo Lady Panthers on Friday night, 61-54, in action broadcast on KTTN FM 92.3.

Krohn, in her best performance since an early December return from offseason ACL surgery, hit three clutch three-point shots in the fourth quarter, giving the Lady Tigers a surge to go with freshman point guard Addy Henke, who added 17 points in the win, improving Princeton to 10-6 overall and 3-2 in the Grand River Conference.  Randa Shahan had eight points, all in the third quarter, for the Lady Tigers.

Polo, falling in conference play for the second time in four nights, had 19 points from Haley Aubrey.  Hanna Vaught and Mary Copeland each scored 8 points, as the Lady Panthers fall to 13-3 overall and 3-3 in the GRC.

In the boys game, Princeton, with sophomore Talan Holt scoring all of the Tigers 13 first quarter points, led 13-11 after eight minutes, but a game-long shooting malaise hit the Tigers hard over the final three quarters, with a 24-4 Polo edge in the third quarter sending the visitors to a 51-35 victory.

The win improves Polo to 9-7 overall and 2-4 in the GRC, with both conference wins coming in the trips to Trenton (1/18) and Princeton (1/21).  Trent Raby had 18 points, Jace Bolling 14, and Maverick Gentry nine points for the Panthers.

Princeton, falling to 7-9 overall and 1-4 in GRC competition, had 24 points from Holt.

The Polo girls and boys will be in the North Platte Tournament, with the Princeton girls and boys in the Gilman City Tournament, during the week of January 24th through the 29th.
