Milan golfers win Moberly Invitational small school division

The Milan Wildcats, with a team score of 354, took the team championship of Tuesday’s Moberly Invitational Golf Tournament.  Schools were split into “Small” and “Large” school divisions, with Milan winning the small school title by 26 shots over runner-up Harrisburg (380).  Brookfield finished third at 387.

The large school division was captured by Hannibal High School with a team score of 319, followed by Salisbury’s 324 and Boonville’s 330.  Other schools in the invitational were Kirksville, Moberly, Jefferson City, Fulton, Mexico, Paris, Scotland County, Glasgow, Westran, and Slater.

Milan’s Taylor Trenter led a group of Wildcats finishing in the 2nd through 4th positions in the small school division, with Trenter’s runner-up score of 82 followed by Cooper Clark’s 84 and Daren Doporto’s 87.  Brookfield scores included Cooper Clarkson at 87 and Baylor Montgomery with 92.

Zach Espey of Boonville shot 72 to claim the large school championship, followed by 73 from Salisbury’s Nolan Gordon and 74 from Quinn Thomas of Hannibal.
