Milan Wildcats earn #4 seed for district baseball, starting Friday night

The Scotland County Tigers will have the top-seed and home field advantage in the Class 2, District 5 baseball tournament, starting on Friday night in Memphis.  The Milan Wildcats have the #4 seed, placing the ‘Cats in a first-round game with former conference rival Knox County on Friday night at 6 o’clock.  The winner advances to the semifinals, and a meeting with Scotland County on Monday at 5 PM.

On the bottom of the District 5 bracket, the #2 seed Canton Tigers will take on the Mercer-Princeton coop team on Friday afternoon at 4 o’clock, while the #3 seeded Putnam County Midgets tangle with the Schuyler County Rams on Friday night at 8 o’clock.  The winners of those games advance to the district semifinal round on Monday night at 7.

The Class 2, District 5 championship game will be Wednesday, May 17th at 5 PM at Scotland County High School in Memphis.
