The Missouri Tigers have added three-star safety Tyler Hibbler of Trinity Catholic High School in St. Louis to the first recruiting class at MU for football coach Eliah Drinkwitz, continuing the program’s recent blitz of mid-June success on the recruiting trail.

Hibbler becomes Mizzou’s fifth commit in the past six days, and the seventh to hail from either St. Louis or nearby East St. Louis, Illinois in the Class of 2021.  Rivals ranks Hibbler as the #27 safety in the class nationwide, with his addition pushing the Tigers to the #20 class in the country, and up to #5 in the 14 school Southeastern Conference.

The rankings from 247Sports are not quite as generous to Missouri, with that organization putting Missouri’s class at 8th in the SEC and #26 across the entire U.S.

Arkansas, with former Mizzou coach Barry Odom handling Hibbler’s recruitment for the Razorbacks, had been among Missouri’s closest competitors for Hibbler, along with Iowa State, Arkansas State, and Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

In other recruiting news, a highly sought after defensive end from the state of Florida has cut his list of potential collegiate destinations to 12, with two of those (Auburn and Florida) in the SEC.

Kenyatta Jackson Jr. took to Twitter to indicate that the Tigers and Gators will vie with Ohio State, Florida State, Clemson, Miami, Oregon, Penn State, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, and Oklahoma for his services.  He will be only a junior this fall in high school, and is ranked as the 7th best defensive end in the country, and the #8 overall recruit in Florida, in the Class of 2022.
