Mizzou football has added two commitments to its 2024 class. Jude James, a wide receiver from Francis Howell High School, announced his commitment to Mizzou via Twitter. He chose the Tigers over offers from Memphis, Missouri State, and others. James was part of a group of recruits who visited Mizzou during the Gold Rush official visit weekend. He is the first receiver to join Missouri’s 2024 class, which already includes commitments from offensive tackle Ryan Jostes, tight end Whit Hafer, and quarterback Aidan Glover. James had an impressive season in 2022, recording 27 receptions for 584 yards and six touchdowns as a key player for the Class 5 state champion team.

Shortly after James’ commitment, Mizzou head coach Eliah Drinkwitz announced the commitment of Jackson Hancock, listed as an athlete by 247Sports. Hancock chose Mizzou over Coastal Carolina, Appalachian State, and Navy, among others. Like James, Hancock visited Mizzou during the Gold Rush weekend. He brings versatility to Missouri’s class, having played both offense and defense in high school. On defense, he primarily played as a safety and contributed with 49 tackles, four forced fumbles, and three pass breakups. On offense, he gained over 900 yards and scored nine touchdowns while playing at receiver and running back. Hancock also showcased his skills in the return game, scoring twice on kickoff returns. He is the first defensive player to join Mizzou’s 2024 class.

There is no update yet on the recruiting decisions of five-star prospects Williams Nwaneri and Ryan Wingo. Nwaneri, a defensive lineman from Lee’s Summit North, visited Mizzou but has not made a decision. He is considered Missouri’s top-ranked player and one of the top prospects nationally. Georgia, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Missouri are among the likely destinations for Nwaneri. Wingo, a wide receiver from St. Louis University High School, is also being pursued by Mizzou. He has praised Missouri’s coaching staff and the offensive system brought in by new offensive coordinator Kirby Moore. The favorites to land Wingo are Georgia, Missouri, Texas, Michigan, and Alabama. The official announcement dates for their recruiting decisions have not been revealed yet.
