The Missouri Tigers, in a preseason poll of national and local media members, have been picked to finish ninth in the 14 team Southeastern Conference.  Missouri had no players named to the all-conference teams.

The University of Tennessee was the preseason choice to win the 2023 SEC men’s basketball title, followed by Texas A&M and Arkansas.  The SEC’s preseason player of the year is Texas A&M junior guard Wade Taylor IV.

Missouri will open the 2023-2024 basketball season at Mizzou Arena on November 6th, hosting Arkansas-Pine Bluff.  The SEC opener will be January 6th, with MU hosting the University of Georgia.

The Tiger women were picked 11th in the SEC preseason poll.  Last year’s team was 6-10 in the SEC, and fell to Arkansas in the first round of the SEC Tournament.  The Mizzou women did not have a player named to the all-conference teams.  Defending national champion LSU is the choice to win the SEC regular season championship.  Missouri’s season opener is November 6th at 11:30 AM against Belmont at Mizzou Arena.  The SEC opener will be at LSU on January 4th at 8 PM.
