Missouri women’s basketball coach Robin Pingeton has announced the signings of three student-athletes for the Tigers Class of 2017.  Columbia Rock Bridge product Elle Brown (formerly of Johnston, Iowa), Nadia Green of the Chicago suburb of Homewood, Illinois, and Lebanon High School (Lebanon, MO) senior Kelsey Winfrey are the three future Tigers.

Brown is the daughter of former Mizzou Track & Field All-American Natasha Brown and Assistant Athletic Director for “Mizzou-Made” Brian Brown. The Brown family moved to Columbia this summer after Elle played three seasons at Johnston High School in Johnson, Iowa, playing last season for a team ranked for most of the season as #1 in Iowa Class 5A.  She averaged 11.9 points per game as a junior, for a team that finished runner-up.  She chose Missouri over Wisconsin, Iowa, and Iowa State, among others.

Green is a 5’9″ guard that averaged 15 points and 6 rebounds per game during her junior season, earning Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) Class 3A/4A Second-Team All-State honors.  Her Homewood-Floosmoor team finished with a sectional title and a record of 22-3.  She chose Mizzou over offers from Cincinnati, Marquette, Purdue, and Indiana.

Winfrey, three years into her Lebanon High School career, holds 21 school records, including 1,425 points, 579 rebounds, and 320 steals.  The 5’9
guard was a First-Team All-State selection in 2015-2016, after three years as a First Team All-Ozark Conference selection.  She chose Missouri over North Carolina and Oklahoma State, among others.
