Mizzou’s Tilmon, Florida’s Mann to return for 2020-2021 season

University of Missouri senior center Jeremiah Tilmon and University of Florida sophomore guard Tre Mann have announced their intentions to return to school, and their SEC teams, for the 2020-2021 season.

Tilmon, a product of East St. Louis, Illinois, announced his intentions on Monday, ending a flirtation with the NBA Draft, as he, along with teammates Xavier Pinson and Mitchell Smith, elected to test the draft waters this spring.  Pinson and Smith have until August 3rd to either hire an agent and remain in the draft, or return to school.

The 6-foot-10 center will be looking for a bounceback senior season, after a foot injury short-circuited his junior campaign, lowering his averages of 8.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.  He did return for Missouri’s last four games of the season.

His return to the collegiate ranks was expected, as was the decision by Florida’s Mann, who averaged only 5.3 points per game as a freshman for the Gators.  He is expected to battle former Cleveland State standout Tyree Appleby and returning sophomore Ques Glover for playing time at the point in 2020-2021.

Mann joins guard Scottie Lewis and forward Keyontae Johnson as Florida players who decided to stay in college and forego the option of entering the NBA Draft.
