The #2 ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers defeated the Missouri Tigers in a four-set thriller on Friday night in Minneapolis.  The Big 10 champions defeated the SEC champions 25-15, 21-25, 25-19, 25-14.  Minnesota won Saturday’s regional final against UCLA to advance to the Final Four in Columbus, Ohio, joining conference rival Nebraska, Stanford, and Texas in reaching that plateau.  In Thursday night’s national semifinals, Stanford plays Minnesota at 6 o’clock, followed by Nebraska dueling with Texas at 8:30.  The national championship match will be Saturday night (December 17th) at 8 o’clock from Nationwide Arena, the home of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets.

MU ends the volleyball season with a record of 27-6, having reached the NCAA Tournament’s third round for the first time since 2010 (and first time as a member of the Southeastern Conference).  The Tigers had 20 attack errors in the contest.  Senior Carly Kan led Mizzou with 20 kills and 10 digs, while junior Melanie Crow had 12 kills.
