The Kansas City Royals announced today that the club has placed third baseman Mike Moustakas on the 15-day disabled list with a left thumb fracture, retroactive to May 5. In a corresponding move, the club has recalled infielder Cheslor Cuthbert from Omaha (AAA).
The 23-year old Cuthbert was hitting .333 with four doubles, seven homers and 28 RBI in his first 24 games with the Storm Chasers.
