MSHSAA, citing conflicts with Mizzou, moves championship football games for 2020

The Missouri State High School Activities Association has announced a change in venue for the 8-man and 11-man football championship games in December.  Noting “venue usage conflicts” with the University of Missouri-Columbia, MSHSAA is moving the 11-man championship games (Class 1 through 6) to three separate high school locations, all in Mid-Missouri.

Blair Oaks, Helias Catholic, and Jefferson City High School will play host to the games, with each facility hosting a doubleheader.  If one of those three schools would advance to the Show-Me Bowl, their game will be played at one of the other two locations.

The 8-man state championship game, will for 2020, be moved to Chillicothe, with Jerry Litton Memorial Stadium at Bob Fairchild Field hosting the annual contest.  Nearby Southwest Livingston, one of the top squads in eight-man, will be hoping to reach the final in their home county, after finishing second last year, falling in the 2019 title contest to Mound City.
