The North Central Missouri College Pirates carried a three-game winning streak into Ottumwa, Iowa on Tuesday afternoon, with a victory over St. Charles in the back-end of a Saturday doubleheader, followed by two wins over St. Charles on Sunday on the road.

Running into a strong Indian Hills Community College team, the Pirates potent offense was silenced by the home team, with IHCC claiming  5-1 and 5-4 victories over NCMC.

Angel Reyes was saddled with the Pirate loss in Game 1, giving up 3 runs in 3 innings of work.  Connor Quick had a pair of hits and the only RBI of the contest for North Central.

In the second game, Pirate sophomore Drew Bunch went the first 4 1/3 innings for NCMC, exiting with the Pirates trailing 3-1.  Freshman Tanner Ryan, as part of a late-game rally, had a two-run home run for North Central, his first round-tripper of the spring.  Quick continued to swing a hot bat with three more hits, completing a 5 for 7 afternoon in the Hawkeye State.

North Central returns home for a four-game series against State Fair CC this weekend.  First pitch against the Roadrunners will be Saturday afternoon at 1 o’clock at Burleigh Grimes Field.  A 1 o’clock doubleheader between the teams will follow on Sunday afternoon on the State Fair campus in Sedalia.
