NCMC softball builds late season momentum with three wins at St. Charles

The North Central Missouri College Lady Pirates have improved their Region 16 regular season record to 9-13, winning 3 of 4 games played at St. Charles Community College over the weekend, and splitting a doubleheader in Trenton with Three Rivers Community College on Monday afternoon.  With just two games remaining in the regular season (Tuesday vs. Three Rivers), the Lady Pirates overall record now sits at 33-14.

On Friday, the Lady Pirates dominated their doubleheader at St. Charles, winning by score of 8-0 and 8-3.  Alex Miller, over the course of the doubleheader, was 5 for 8 with 7 RBI’s, and her 15th homer of the spring.  Miller earned the pitching win in Game 1, with Kaitlyn Marsh victorious in the second game.

On Saturday, the Lady Pirates played a clean game in the opener, winning 4-1, only to fall in the nightcap, 8-3.  Marsh, with a Game 1 victory, improved her season record to 17-6.  Makayla Lamphier, in Saturday’s doubleheader, was 3 for 6 with two home runs and 4 RBI’s.

Runs came in abundance in Monday afternoon’s doubleheader at Griffin Field, with the Lady Pirates tipping Three Rivers in the opener 8-7, before hitting struggles in the second game, a 14-5 loss.

The final two games of the regular season for NCMC softball will be this (Tuesday) afternoon at Griffin Field, as the Lady Pirates host Three Rivers at 2 and 4 o’clock.
