Northwest Missouri State University has named six captains for the 2016 football season. Head Coach Adam Dorrel announced, on Friday, that seniors Collin Bevins, Kevin Berg, Jacob Vollstedt, Kyle Zimmerman, Phil Jackson II, and Chase Sherman have been selected by their teammates.
In a new honor for the Bearcat players, an “honorary” team captain title will be voted upon each week, with the program stating that honor would go to a player who has “excelled on the practice field, the classroom, and in the community”.
Fall camp for the Bearcats begins on Thursday, August 11th. Northwest’s season opener will be Thursday night, September 1st, with a 7 o’clock kickoff at MIAA rival Emporia State.
