The Street & Smith’s College Football Preview edition has named Northwest Missouri State as the second-ranked Division Two team in the country, behind only West Florida.  In addition, Kearney native and Bearcat senior offensive lineman Tanner Owen was named to the magazine’s preseason D-2 All-America squad.

The MIAA announced earlier this week that there will be no football games played during the month of September, pushing back the Bearcats opener to the first Saturday in October, as Pittsburg State travels to Maryville.

The Bearcats are expecting another strong season in 2020, returning 16 starters from a squad that was 12-2 a season ago and reached the national quarterfinals.
