The Princeton Lady Tigers traveled to Danner Park in Chillicothe for a battle with the Lady Hornets in non-conference softball action.  Princeton took an early lead with two runs in the top of the third inning, but a surge of offensive punch from the Lady Hornets overtook Princeton, with CHS grabbing the 9-3 win.

Leading 2-0 through 2 1/2 innings, Princeton saw Chillicothe wait until the fourth inning before getting the offense going, with the home team scoring twice to tie the game.  In the fifth inning, the Lady Hornets grabbed firm control of the game, adding three runs to take a 5-2 lead.  The Lady Tigers sliced the advantage to 5-3 with a sixth inning run, but Chillicothe slammed the door on Princeton, putting up four runs in the home half of the sixth inning.

Mika Hibner had a home run and Hope Helton three hits for the Lady Hornets.  Princeton battled lack of timely hitting throughout the contest, with Heather Hall’s team cracking out 12 hits, but only the three runs off of the Lady Hornets pitching trio of Halle Rucker, Mollie Ellis, and Kinlei Boley.
