For the first time in the history of the program, the Southwest Livingston Wildcats have won the boy’s championship in the Keytesville Tournament, earning a hard-fought victory over Brunswick on Saturday afternoon, 59-56.

As has been the case for most of the season, the ‘Cats offense went through 6’5″ sophomore center Mack Anderson, who responded with a 21 point, 17 rebound performance in the title game.  Wyatt Maddux had 11 points for Southwest.

The girls title game was a showdown between CLAA rivals Norborne and Southwest, with the Lady Pirates coming out victorious by a final score of 70-46.  Kennedie Crowe and Madison Brown both scored 20 points for NHS, with Olivia Dooley adding 15.  For the Lady Wildcats, Kortlyn Rounkles had 21 points.  Southwest played the game short-handed, with Class 1 all-state center Kaylie Campbell out with the flu and Becca Allred out with strep throat.

The Prairie Home boys won the third place game, on Saturday afternoon, over Keytesville, 72-52.  On Friday night, the Prairie Home girls, suffering from a bout with the flu bug, had to forfeit their third place game with Higbee.  The Keytesville girls won the consolation final over Bevier, 37-27, while the Higbee boys downed Norborne in the consolation final, 51-46.
