Tar Heels, Jayhawks to play two-year home-and-home series

Traditional college basketball powerhouses, Kansas and North Carolina, have announced that they will face each other in regular-season games in 2024 and 2025.

The first matchup is scheduled for November 8, 2024, and will take place in Lawrence, Kansas. The second game will be held on November 14, 2025, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

This upcoming series will mark the first time the teams meet since their last encounter in the 2022 NCAA title game, where Kansas emerged victorious with a 72-69 win over North Carolina in New Orleans.

Kansas has enjoyed recent success against North Carolina, having secured four consecutive victories in their head-to-head meetings, all of which occurred in the NCAA Tournament under the guidance of coach Bill Self. Overall, the teams have faced each other 12 times since their initial encounter during the 1957 national championship game, with wins evenly split between them.

Both programs boast impressive histories, with Kansas holding the record for the most all-time wins in college basketball history, tallying up to 2,385 victories. North Carolina ranks third in this regard, with 2,347 wins. Together, the two schools have accumulated a total of 10 national titles, showcasing their longstanding excellence in the sport.
