NCMC Pirates Golf Coach Craig Sager has received a commitment from a high school senior, earning the signature without having to leave Trenton to do so.  On Tuesday morning, Trenton High School’s Lathan Croy officially agreed to join the Pirates program for the 2018-19 season.  “Adding Lathan to our roster is big.  I’m counting on him to continue his improved play over the course of his senior season and have a nice run at the state tournament,” commented Coach Sager.

Croy, son of long-time Lady Pirate basketball coach Jenni Croy and Trenton athletic director and former football coach Wes Croy, is a multi-sport standout for the Bulldogs.  On the football field, Croy received 2nd Team All-Conference awards at the quarterback position as a junior and senior and at the linebacker position as a junior.  In addition to his conference honors, he has also received AP All District All Purpose Back (2016, 2017), All New Press 3rd Team LB (2016), MFCA All District Quarterback (2017), in addition to being named THS Outstanding Junior (2016), and THS Mr. Football last month.

On the golf course, Croy has received All-District (2016, 2017) and All-State (2017 – 14th) accolades.  This spring will give him an opportunity to add to his accomplishments.  “He’s going to be a great addition their team.  Lathan’s swing can shorten a golf course and his course management skills have dramatically improved.  I’m proud of his accomplishments and look forward to having him one more year before he jumps to the college level.  I think he’s going to enjoy it and he has a real opportunity to succeed,” commented THS Golf Coach Travis Mullenix

In addition to his athletic achievements, Lathan is a member of the National Honor Society and FBLA.  He is also on the A Honor Roll.
