Trenton girls “sharpen skills” in domination of Cameron, prepare for Senior Night test with Penney

High School Basketball

The Trenton Lady Bulldogs overall game was spectacular on both ends of the court on Tuesday night in Cameron, with the Lady Bulldogs using their strong defensive skills to overwhelm the Cameron Lady Dragons, while utilizing a quick and decisive passing game to get numerous open looks and baskets, in a 75-25 domination that gives the third-ranked (MBCA Class 3) Lady Bulldogs a 23-1 record.

In action heard on Hot Country Z 101.7, Ainsley Tolson scored 25 points to lead Trenton, with Mykah Hurley contributing 15 to the winning cause.  Maci Moore had 14 and Salem Croy 11 points.  Cameron, dropping to 6-17 on the season, had 11 points from point guard Kaitlyn Smith.

On the Dragons “Senior Night”, the Cameron boys had one of their best performances of the season, shooting it well from three-point range in a 79-53 victory.  Sam Morrison and Griffin Mefford both had 17 points for CHS, with Kyler Hill adding 12, and Nick Helmich 10 points.  The Dragons are now 11-12 on the campaign.  Trenton, in dropping to a mark of 14-11, struggled to find consistent offense around senior Lathan Croy, who scored 29 of his teams’ 53 points.

Trenton finishes its regular season by hosting the Penney Hornets on Thursday night at THS.  A “Teddy Bear Toss” event will be included in the night’s proceedings, with the girls game at 6, and boys game at 7:30 both to be heard on KTTN FM 92.3.
