Chillicothe may have had the best player on the court Monday afternoon in Gracy Reeter, but the overall balance of Trenton’s girls tennis team overwhelmed the host Lady Hornets, in a 7-2 Lady Bulldog victory that improves Trenton to 3-0 this season.

Reeter, playing #1 singles for Chillicothe, won her matchup against Claire Utley 10-love, and combined with Hannah Cypert for Chillicothe’s #1 doubles entry, who defeated Utley and Lauren Dolan of Trenton 8-5.  Those were the only two victories for the CHS varsity on the day.

In #2 singles, Trenton’s Lauren Dolan rolled to a 10-2 win over Chillicothe’s Maelaina Vanfossen.  The #3 singles match went to Samantha Mihalovich of Trenton over Hannah Cypert 10-2.  Madison Searcy continued the momentum for THS with a 10-3 win at #4 singles over Danielle Rapp.  At #5 singles, Codi DeLong of Trenton upended Chillicothe’s Macy Cavanah 10-4, while Emma Gilham of Trenton, playing #6 singles, claimed a 10-3 triump over Hunter Keithley.

Trenton won the #2 and #3 doubles matches, with Mihalovich and Searcy beating the team of Vanfossen and Rapp by a score of 8-4, while DeLong and Gilham beat Cavanah and Keithley 8-2.

The schools played four JV doubles matches, with Chillicothe winning three of the four.  Trenton’s only JV triumph, an 8-4 final, saw Alainey Fair and Elle Neal beat Lauren Gregory and Brynlee Faulkner.  Chillicothe’s triumphs were 8-1 over Hannah Zimmerman and Macey Hicks over Emily Bonta and Latorrie Johnson, an 8-2 win for Olivia Lamp and Rylee Stover over Leah Polk and Halley Windsor, and an 8-love final for Kayla Distler and Kayla McElwee over Grace Eaton and Tessa Schlatter.
