Trenton volleyball earns season’s first win at Hamilton

Volleyball

Three tough nights against strong competition sent Trenton to an 0-3 record to open the volleyball season.  A Monday night trip to Hamilton was just the elixir needed by the Lady Bulldogs to put their efforts into the win column.

In a varsity matchup against the Penney Hornets, Trenton swept their KCI Conference foe 25-22, 25-19.  Karli Provorse was a force at the net for Trenton, with seven kills.  Brittany Wilson (4) and Laura Carlson (5) combined for nine kills in the win, with Shawn Coplen contributing five assists, and Grace Holcomb four assists, two digs, and one kill.

Trenton, now 1-3 on the campaign, will host the Plattsburg Lady Tigers tonight (Tuesday night), with the JV match at 5 o’clock and the varsity match to follow.  Hamilton has a mini-break in its schedule, next playing on Tuesday, September 6th, at Cameron High School against the rival Dragons.
