The result in the opener was not as good for the Tri-County boys, as the Mustangs were doubled up by Novinger, falling by a score of 72-36.  The Novinger girls and boys will be home tonight (Monday night), hosting the Milan Wildcats in doubleheader action to be heard on Hot Country Z 101.7.  Audio streaming will be available on KTTNSports.com (click on the “Listen to KTTN” option).

The Gallatin Lady Bulldogs traveled to Gower on Friday night, and looked impressive in a road win over East Buchanan, 62-34.  Karley Salmon led a balanced Gallatin attack with 15 points.  Samantha White had 12 points for East Buchanan.  The dominant quarter for Gallatin was the second, with GHS outscoring the home team, 22-6.  Due to East Buchanan’s football appearance in the Class 1 semifinals at Monroe City, a boy’s varsity game was not played on Friday night.

East Buchanan will host the Trenton Bulldogs in the THS openers on Tuesday night, with the girls game starting just past 6, with the boys contest to follow, on Hot Country Z 101.7.

Orrick and Polo opened the basketball season with a split on Friday night.  The Polo boys won 68-53 behind 28 points from James Fleener, while the Lady Panthers took one on the chin, 48-22.

Macon gave the Putnam County Midgets two losses to open the campaign, with the Tigerettes rolling to a 67-19 triumph, while in a much tighter boys game, Macon took the 57-53 win.
