The Trenton Lady Bulldogs have started the basketball season with a 6-0 record, leaving Brian Upton’s team in the second position in the second Class 3 girls coaches poll of the 2017-2018 season. After the most recent poll release, Trenton survived the stiffest challenge of its early season, rallying for a 46-40 home-court victory over Class 4 Chillicothe.
The defending state champions from Strafford High School remain a solid #1 in Class 3 girls, joined at the top spot by girls teams from Walnut Grove (Class 1), Skyline (Class 2), Incarnate Word (Class 4), and Kirkwood (Class 5).
Area highlights, in addition to Trenton, in the girls poll are Southwest Livingston’s Lady Wildcats, ranked #3 in Class 1, followed at 4 by Norborne.
The Winston boys are ranked 5th in Class 1, with Linn County at #10, while the Milan boys, in Class 2, make their first appearance of the season in the Top 10, with the 5-0 champions of the Novinger Tournament checking in at #10.
