Win over Penney edges Gallatin toward the Top 10 in latest football rankings

High School Football

On Friday night, the Gallatin Bulldogs defeated the rival Penney Hornets for the first time in 12 years, with the media across the state taking notice.  That win has pushed the Bulldogs to the brink of the Top 10 in the Class 1 high school football poll, tied with Grand River Conference Milan with three votes, while the tradition-rich group from Hamilton slipped to just one vote.

Here are the complete rankings, released Monday evening by the Sportswriters and Broadcasters Association.
