The Big 12 Conference, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, includes 14 schools as of July 1, 2023

Big 12 title game remains at “Jerry World” through 2025

While the teams eligible to play in the game may shift from year-to-year, the Big 12 Conference has announced that its football championship game will remain at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas through December 2025.  By that time, the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners will have left the conference for the riches of the Southeastern Conference, with that move scheduled for July 1, 2025, and perhaps, if agreements for an early release can be agreed upon, sooner.

While the Big 12 prepares for the financial hit and loss in prestige from OU and Texas departing, the conference has made maneuvers to remain as strong as possible in the ever-changing college football landscape, with Cincinnati, Houston, BYU, and UCF joining in the summer of 2023, which could leave the conference with 14 schools if OU and Texas remain for the next two seasons.

AT&T Stadium, the home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, has hosted the Big 12 title game since 2009, with the event, before that point, rotating between Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, the Houston Texans home stadium in southeast Texas, and the Edward Jones Dome in downtown St. Louis.
