Bills trade 2016 2nd-round pick Reggie Ragland to Chiefs

NFL

The Kansas City Chiefs shuffled up their linebacking corps on Monday morning, releasing 30-year old veteran Josh Mauga, before trading a 2019 fourth-round pick to the Buffalo Bills for 2016 second-round pick Reggie Ragland.  The Bills made the move official on Monday afternoon, via their website.

Ragland missed his entire rookie season after tearing his ACL in 2016’s training camp.  With Kansas City, Ragland, a product of the powerhouse Alabama Crimson Tide, will join a defense led by defensive coordinator Bob Sutton, long-time linebackers coach of Rex Ryan with the Jets.  Ryan was the Bills Head Coach last year when the team chose Ragland.

The Ragland move continues a busy month for Buffalo, with new General Manager Brandon Beane trading top wide receiver Sammy Watkins to the Los Angeles Rams and sending 2015 second-rounder Ronald Darby to the Philadelphia Eagles.
