Bulldog volleyball off to slow start, swept in back-to-back home matches to start season

A strong service night from the Cameron Lady Dragons put the Trenton Lady Bulldogs “behind the eight ball” on Monday night, with Cameron running away from Trenton in the opening set, and controlling the second set throughout, in a convincing straight set win, 25-14, 25-11 at Trenton High School.

In the match broadcast on KTTN FM 92.3, Trenton was led by senior Karli Provorse with 2 kills, 2 assist, and 3 digs.  Fellow senior Saedee Jackson had two digs and a kill, while Allena Allen adding eight digs, Teresa Yoder a dig and a kill, Mackenzie Klinginsmith one dig, Evy McCullough one dig, and Libby Fewins one dig.

The Trenton JV lost to Cameron 25-22 (losing a 14-8 lead), 25-14, while the freshmen team fell 25-2, 25-12 on Monday night.

Trenton had a chance at a rebound on Tuesday night, but ran into a Lawson buzzsaw, with the Lady Cards winning at THS, 25-9, 25-9.  Lawson took the JV match 25-11, 25-5 and the freshmen match 25-12, 25-15.

Trenton hosts Chillicothe on Thursday night in the final matches of the Lady Bulldogs season-opening three match week.  Action from the THS gym starts at 5 o’clock.
