Bulldogs clip Wildcats in Monday night middle school duel

The Trenton Middle School Bulldogs, on the strength of second quarter touchdown runs by Gabe Stark and Brayden Hughs, took a 16-0 halftime lead at Milan, adding a pair of successful two-point conversions in the process.

The second half was a different story for Trenton, as Milan hit on a 23 yard scoring pass in the third quarter, and a 46 yard strike in the fourth quarter.  However, in comparison to Trenton, the Wildcats came up 0-for-2 on two point conversions, leaving Trenton with the 16-12 road win.

Stark finished the night with 91 rushing yards with Hughs adding 60 for TMS, with Stark leading the defense with a nine tackle, three sack night, while Charlie Riley had two tackles and two pass interceptions.

Trenton’s final game will be at South Harrison on Monday, October 14th at 5 o’clock, with the junior varsity game to follow.  Trenton’s JV, on Monday night of this week, was shutout at Milan 24-0, falling to 1-3 on the season.
