The Chillicothe Lady Hornets walloped the rebuilding LeBlond Golden Eagles in Midland Empire Conference softball action on Monday night, 16-0. The game was over early, with the Lady Hornets tallying 12 first-inning runs to blitz the visitors from St. Joseph. The game was called after three innings. Jylian Davis homered for Chillicothe, while Abby Jones and Molly Jones each had three base hits. Chillicothe will be at Trenton to battle the 20-1 Lady Bulldogs on Monday, October 2nd for Trenton’s Senior Night, with coverage of the 5 o’clock game on Hot Country Z 101.7.
It was a similar story in Hamilton on Monday night, where the Penney Lady Hornets opened the scoring with eight runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning, beating the Lexington Minutewomen 9-1. Graycen Prothero was the winning pitcher for Hamilton, scattering seven hits in the seven inning complete game. With the bat, Prothero had a pair of RBI’s, with Lexi Potts adding a pair of RBI’s for the Hornets.
