Esry hits Hayti High School to gain Pirates latest recruit

Men's Basketball

Kobe Cooper, a 6’2″ senior guard from Hayti High School in Missouri’s Boot Heel region, has been announced as the latest recruit for Coach Jeremy Esry’s Class of 2018.  Cooper averaged 16.9 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per game during his senior season for Hayti High School, as HHS claimed second place in the state in Class 2, with Cooper named a First-Team All-Stater.  In addition to the All-State selection, Cooper has twice been named an All-District selection and three times an All-Conference pick during his prep career.

“Kobe is a physical specimen that is a proven winner.  Kobe was really well coached in high school and understands what it takes to be successful.  He is going to bring a high level of intensity and toughness to our group and we know what we are going to get from him every single day on the court.  Kobe also comes from the same high school as former Pirate Brandon Burdon.  We are excited to get another Hayti Indian in our program,” remarked Coach Esry.
