Florida Gators lose starting cornerback to ACL injury

NCAA

The University of Florida’s football program has been hit with injury difficulties, after news broke that projected starting cornerback Jaydon Hill will miss the entire 2021 season with an ACL tear to his left knee.

With Hill out, the starting job opposite Kaiir Elam will come down to a camp battle between University of Missouri transfer Jadarrius Perkins, redshirt freshmen Avery Helm and Ethan Pouncey, and Texas A&M transfer Elijah Blades.

The latest ACL injury for Hill is not his first.  As a senior in high school in Huntsville, Alabama, he tore the same ligament in his right knee.

The Gators open the season hosting Florida Atlantic at “The Swamp” on Saturday, September 4th.
