Friday night football action includes numerous jamborees, “Black & Gold” scrimmage for THS

A number of area high schools, including Milan, Worth County, and Braymer, will host season-opening football jamborees this coming Friday night (August 20th), serving as a warm-up for squads for the regular season openers the following week.

At Cal Hubbard Field in Milan, the Wildcats will host Princeton, Putnam County, and Salisbury in a jamboree that will include six scrimmages starting at 7 o’clock.  The order of scrimmages will run Putnam County vs. Salisbury, followed by Milan vs. Princeton, Putnam County vs. Princeton, Milan vs. Salisbury, Princeton vs. Salisbury, and Milan vs. Putnam County.  Cost of admittance will be $4.00 for adults and $3.00 for students.  There will be a softball jamboree earlier on Friday, with Milan hosting Princeton and Gallatin at Legion Field in Milan at 3 o’clock.  Spectators planning to attend both events can purchase tickets for $6.00 (adults) and $4.00 (students).

Eight-man jamborees will be held, both starting at 7 o’clock, at Braymer High School and Worth County High School.  Admission at Worth County will be $4.00 (adults) and $3.00 (students), with $4.00 at Braymer (adults) and $2.00 for students.  

Teams at Worth County will be King City, Worth County, Stanberry, and Worth County, with the order of scrimmages running King City vs. Albany, Worth County vs. Stanberry, Stanberry vs. King City, King City vs. Worth County, Albany vs. Stanberry, and Worth County vs. Albany.

At Braymer, the Bobcats welcome Norborne/Hardin-Central, Orrick, and Southwest Livingston, with scrimmages split into “North End” and “South End” games at Braymer High School.  The “North End” order of games will be Braymer vs. Orrick, Orrick vs. NHC, and Southwest vs. Orrick.  On the “South End”, scrimmages will be NHC vs. Southwest, Southwest vs. Braymer, and Braymer vs. NHC.

The Trenton High School football team will host a “Black & Gold” scrimmage on Friday night at 7 o’clock at C.F. Russell Stadium in Trenton.  It will be an intrasquad scrimmage with Bulldog players split into two separate teams.  The scrimmage begins at 7 o’clock, with fans asked to bring bottles of Powerade, which will serve as your admission through the gates to watch the game.
