The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) is gearing up for its 12th season of football and will host the 11th annual GLVC Football Kickoff event on Friday, July 28. The event will be held at The Hettenhausen Center for the Arts on the campus of McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM Central Time.

The GLVC Football Kickoff has been traditionally held at McKendree University, providing a picturesque setting just outside Leemon Field. The event serves as an opportunity for media members and passionate fans to connect with coaches and players from all eight conference teams. The event was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Each GLVC team will be represented by a coach and two players at the event. Notably, Chris Keevers, head coach of the University of Indianapolis, will be present. Keevers has led the Greyhounds to nine GLVC Championships since the conference began sponsoring football in 2012. UIndy finished the 2022 season as undefeated GLVC Champions and earned a spot in the NCAA Division II playoffs.

Gregg Nesbitt, head coach of Truman State University, will also attend the GLVC Football Kickoff. Nesbitt led the Bulldogs to a successful 2022 season with a 5-1 GLVC record and an overall record of 9-2. Truman State represented the GLVC for the third consecutive time in the America’s Crossroads Bowl, where they secured a one-point victory over Tiffin.

Other coaches in attendance will be Robert Clardy from Southwest Baptist University, Mike Babcock from McKendree University, Andy Ball from Missouri S&T, Gary Bass from Quincy University, Neil Linhart from William Jewell College (serving in an interim capacity), and Jason Hoskins from Upper Iowa University.
