GRC announces first all-conference softball selections as 16 team league

The Grand River Conference has announced first-team, second-team, and honorable mention selections for the 2016 softball season, highlighted by three members of the conference champion Trenton Lady Bulldogs named first-team, two in unanimous fashion.

The teams were split into Western Division and Eastern Division groupings.  Three GRC teams (Trenton, Gallatin, and Maysville) remain in the state playoffs, and will play tonight (Wednesday night) in sectional competition, with Trenton at Marceline, Gallatin hosting Knox County, and Maysville hosting Norborne.

Trenton’s potent sophomore tandem of Ainsley Tolson and Salem Croy were named unanimous all-Grand River Conference, joined as first-team selections by senior first baseman Whitley Richman.  Gallatin’s Sami Boyd and Milan’s Breanna Sawyer were also among the unanimous first-team picks.
