I-35 Speedway to “Race for Rian” on Saturday night

Local Sports

I-35 Speedway’s annual “Racin’ for Rian” event will be held on Saturday night.  This year, the USRA A-Mods will pay $1,000 to win, USRA B-Mods $1,000 to win, USRA Stock Cars $800 to win, and the E-Mods $450 to win.

“Racin’ for Rian” is held in memory of Rian Wilson, infant daughter of Bud and Amanda Wilson, who died 30 hours after being born 4 months premature.  The Wilson’s have collected and donated $12,000 to the St. Luke’s NICU family fund over the past four years.

Money is gained through sponsorships, T-shirt sale, and through drivers doing collections in the grandstands.   Racin’ For Rian T-shirts are currently on sale, as you can contact Paula Wilson Murphy (660-635-0639) for purchasing information.

At I-35 Speedway this Saturday night, gates open at 4 o’clock, hot laps start at 6:15, with the racing at 7 PM.  The speedway is located at Exit 64 off Interstate 35 in southwestern Daviess County.
