The NCMC women’s golf team showcased their resilience and skill at the William Woods Spring Invitational on Monday and Tuesday despite challenging weather conditions.  Although the event was shortened to 18 holes due to inclement weather, the Pirates managed to achieve the third-best 18-hole team score in program history, finishing with a tally of 355 strokes. This performance secured them the 8th place out of 11 schools in the tournament.

Head Coach Nate Swann commended the team for their solid performance, emphasizing their ability to battle through adverse weather conditions. He highlighted Mollee Olszowka’s impressive round, noting her adeptness at avoiding trouble off the tee. Additionally, he praised Haley Baskett for her crucial putts and Kennedy Dickerson for her consistent performance in hitting fairways in regulation. Despite a setback in the middle of her round, Skyler Powers recovered admirably on the back nine.

Individually, Mollee Olszowka led the NCMC team with a score of 84, securing her a T22nd position in the tournament standings. Haley Baskett followed closely, finishing T25th with a score of 86, while Kennedy Dickerson posted an 87 to finish T27th. Skyler Powers rounded out the team’s scoring with a score of 98, placing her T44th in the field of 51 players.

Looking ahead, the NCMC Women’s Golf Team will compete in the Peru State Fall Invitational in Nebraska City, NE, on April 5th-6th. The tournament will take place at the Table Creek Golf Course, with shotgun starts scheduled for both days at 10:00 A.M.
