Milan will see its fair share of the Novinger Wildcats over the first two weeks of the basketball season, whether it be from head-to-head competition, or competing in the Novinger Invitational Tournament.
On Tuesday, November 22nd, Milan hosts Novinger in a “Battle of Wildcats” on KTTN FM 92.3, as Dennis Stephenson will call the girls and boys varsity contests.
The following week, Milan’s Lady Wildcats will be a #4 seed, with the Milan boys seeded fifth, with both teams playing back-to-back on Monday, November 28th in the Novinger Tournament quarterfinals. At 6:40, the Lady ‘Cats will take on Atlanta, followed by the Milan boys battling Sullivan County rival Green City at 8 o’clock.
Other quarterfinals on Monday, November 28th from Novinger will include the top-seeded Scotland County girls against Newtown-Harris at 4 o’clock, with the #1 seed LaPlata boys battling Atlanta at 5:20.
Quarterfinals continue on Tuesday, November 29th, with #3 girls seeded LaPlata opposite Novinger at 4 o’clock, the #2 seed Scotland County boys against Newtown-Harris at 5:20, the #2 seed Green City Lady Gophers taking on the Brashear Lady Tigers at 6:40, followed by the #3 boys seed, Novinger, going up against Brashear at 8:00.
