Mizzou’s Frank chosen to participate in Final Four’s three-point competition

Mizzou forward Hayley Frank has been selected to compete in the 2024 State Farm College 3-Point Championship, as announced by the selection committee on Wednesday.

Frank, a native of Strafford, Missouri, has an impressive record, making 300 career 3-pointers at a shooting percentage of 41.4% over five seasons at Mizzou. In the recently concluded season, she ranked fourth in the Southeastern Conference with a 3-point shooting percentage of 37.3%. Additionally, Frank achieved the milestone of becoming the fourth player in program history to reach 2,000 career points.

Joining Frank in the women’s 3-Point Championship are Brynna Maxwell and Kaylynne Truong from Gonzaga, Unique Drake from St. John’s, Dyaisha Fair from Syracuse, Rachel Kent from Butler, Sara Scalia from Indiana, and Michelle Sidor from DePaul.

The event, scheduled to commence at 8 p.m. on Thursday at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, will also feature a slam dunk championship and the men’s 3-point contest. The champions from both the women’s and men’s 3-point competitions will face off in the final round, which will be broadcast on ESPN.

In other news, Sarah Linthacum, a junior from Jefferson City and sister of Mizzou players Micah and Hannah Linthacum, has entered the transfer portal, as reported by PowerMizzou on Wednesday. Linthacum averaged 1.2 points per game in 52 appearances during her tenure at MU and contributed 13 total points in 23 appearances this season, averaging 4.5 minutes per game.
